Base of the Pyramid hub (BoP)
There are 3,7 billion people part of the base of the pyramid. It is an untapped market. There is currently an underutilized production and entrepreneurial capacity. There is a need for quality elementary products and services for this market at affordable prices. Commercial activities that contribute to the well-being of people at the base of the pyramid and create job opportunities. We call this Inclusive Innovation. The Base of the Pyramid Innovation Center (BoP) in Utrecht is an accelerator for inclusive innovation Business worldwide. The center cooperates with large multinationals, NGO’s, IO’s, SME business and governments.
BoP had developed a new concept for an Inclusive Innovation Hub (IIH). The purpose of the Hub services was to prepare investment plans on inclusive innovations for impact investors. This was be done by providing support in converting the business idea into a professional business plans, including the testing of proto-types and conducting research in market insights. IIH wanted to operate as a matchmaker between grants and social impact investment up till 1 million $. The total revolving fund for Inclusive Innovation was to be estimated at 22-million euro.100% Zomer was asked to reinforce the concept to make it accessible for SME business. Besides that 100% Zomer developed the new ‘story’ and presentation fort his IIH. 100% Zomer cooperated with the director and the management team.

Why: The Inclusive Innovation Hub is operating in a very early stage in the investment cycle. A stage where it is usually very hard for SME’s to obtain investment capital.
